2011 Ironman Kona: Injured Wellington wins fourth Ironman title
Oct. 8, 2011: Chrissie Wellington, who was injured two weeks ago in a bike crash, came from behind to win the 2011 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
Sometimes in life, a triathlete doesn't want to go to swim practice. And last week, Samantha McGlone was not afraid to take an immature measure to make sure she avoided it:
"Snuck off to bathroom to avoid last 400m of swim practice. Then remembered that i am 32 years old."
With 68 percent of readers' votes, that tweet was elusive enough to defeat LaShawn Merritt (25 percent) and Lolo Jones (7 percent), earning McGlone her first career Tweet of the Week victory.
No word as to whether or not she fessed up and returned to swim practice, or stayed hidden in the bathroom the entire time (which probably would have been our preferred course of action).
