More than seven months before the 2012 Olympics, Kohei Uchimura can rest assured he will be on the Japanese men's gymnastics team competing in London.
Kyodo News reports that the Japan Gymnastic Association named him to his second Olympic Team on Thursday.
The rest of the team will be named after a series of selection events in Spring 2012, but Uchimura's three consecutive world all-around titles were enough to give him the early nod. At the most recent world championships in October, the 22-year-old won four medals, including the historic all-around title.
Uchimura is the defending Olympic all-around silver medalist and the hands down favorite for gold in 2012.
